IHS-Kompakt: Mobile event formats Date: , Theme: Workshop

IHS-Kompakt offers the IHS community the opportunity to discuss a topic in depth for an hour. At the end of March, Dr. Silke Glogowksi presented the lab-on-tour truck of the Digitalise_SWF project. She shared her experiences from conception to implementation.

The lab-on-tour is an e-truck equipped with digital items such as laptops, tablets, mini-robots and VR equipment. The lab-on-tour team travels the South Westphalia region with this truck to improve the digitalization skills of companies, schools and citizens. They present current developments at South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences and Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and bring the research results of the project's virtual institutes to life for visitors. Dr. Glogowski has already successfully set up a science truck in the first funding round of the IHS IHJO project. She  used the IHS-Kompakt workshop to share her wealth of experience from the conception of a science truck, to its implementation and to events with the lab-on-tour truck.

It showed how important it is to involve all stakeholders in the decision-making processes. A large number of concepts had to be developed, about the didactic approach, the design of the truck, permits and logistics, the event formats and worked on until the truck was actually at the event location and could welcome the visitors. Perseverance and a good dose of optimism are necessary for this work.

The approximately 50 participants from the IHS community showed a keen interest in the topic by asking a large number of questions in the digital IHS-Kompakt workshop.
