The Transfer Workshop is a long-established event at the BMFTR and this year focuses on the theme ‘On the way – career models for roles in research infrastructures’. Research infrastructures (FIS) are a key foundation for scientific progress. FIS are both major consumers of and drivers of knowledge and technology transfer. To maintain their effectiveness, organisations that provide and operate FIS rely on highly qualified staff with research expertise and practical experience. ‘Knowledge transfer through people’ is therefore crucial for them, and this is also closely linked to issues of cross-sectoral mobility.
